Obituary of Elsie M. Dingus
Elsie M. Dingus, age 97, of Spring Hill, Kansas, formerly of Kincaid, Kansas passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 at her home.
Elsie was the eldest of six children born to Eric Jacob "Jake" and Margaret "Maggie" Patrick Cornog. She was born on July 14, 1918 at Spokane, Missouri. Elsie grew up in Spokane and attended school there. She married Wilbur Carl Dingus in Mound City, Kansas; this union was blessed with one son, Wilbur Carl "Buddy". They made their first home in Spokane, later moving to Kincaid, Kansas where she lived for most of her life. Elsie was a member of the Kincaid-Selma United Methodist Church; she was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, belonging to the chapter in Kincaid, then Moran and currently the Baldwin chapter. She was currently a member of the Gardner Grange. Elsie enjoyed tending to her flowers and raising cockatiels in her later years. She will be missed for her cooking. She has lived with her son, Buddy, for the last ten years, living in Spring Hill since 2010.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Lula Cornog, Tina Cornog, and Grace Cornog.
She is survived by her son, Buddy and his wife, Sheri, of Spring Hill, Kansas; brother, William Cornog of Windy City, Missouri; sister, Bessie Cornog of Spokane, Missouri; step-granddaughter, Diane Sprague and husband, Michael, of Spring Hill, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Kincaid-Selma United Methodist Church, Kincaid, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Kincaid Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, Kansas.
