I met Miss Elsie at the Community America Ballpark during T-Bones games where she loved to be while Buddy and Sheri worked. Often Buddy would "park " her wheelchair by Sheri's stand which placed her right behind our seats. I would turn around to tell her hi and she would give me that beautiful smile of hers and her eyes would light up as we chatted. Even though I couldn't always understand her and I often wondered how much of our conversations she was comprehending, her eyes and smile told me it didn't matter and that somehow our chats meant a lot to her. She loved Buddy so very much, which was evident many times when she wanted nothing more than to be near him. While I only knew her for a short time, I truly cared about her and looked forward to that smile and our little chats during the ball games. I will miss her. Condolences for Buddy, Sheri, the family and anyone that she touched the way she did me. God Bless!
