I had not seen this until today when I was thinking of her and a kind comment she had made to me. Mrs Feuerborn was my journalism teacher at Ottawa High School in 1970-71, She was wonderful. Blessings to her family.

Ms. Feuerborn taught me an appreciation of the classics and made writing a fun creative way of expression as I worked as the feature editor of the GHS Times the year that I took Journalism from her at Garnett High School.

I will forever remember getting a note in the mail from Jane when I was in high school after my performance as Mrs. Banks in "Father of the Bride". She took the time to tell me how believable I was in the role and compliment me on my performance. It takes a special lady to lift up a child she had never taught and didn't really know by doing something so thoughtful. It certainly had a positive impact on me. I probably still have that note somewhere! My sincere condolences to all of her family.

I got to know Jane better when she lived for awhile on Fifth Avenue next to my mother although by then I was in the Navy. She was a good and kindly neighbor. When my late wife, Marjorie, who was from Georgia and knew only a few folks in Garnett was visiting mother, Jane and she used to have good and nteresting visits in the porch swing. I always found her conversations stimulating and interesting. My sympathy to all the Feuerborn kin. May you be inspired by her caring example.

Jane was my true guiding light my Senior year and a teacher I was honored to have for both ELA and Journalism. She was tough, she was fair, she made you reach beyond what you knew you could do and she had the most amazing laugh. Later, after school I called her my friend.
When I became a teacher I used, and still do, her as my role model and blue print. I still tell my students about this teacher who would not let me give up...and so all these years later she still influences students far away in South Carolina.

I enjoyed being in Ms. Feuerborn's classes in High School and under her direction during plays and musicals. She was a great person who treated me with respect and kindness - even when I didn't deserve it. Teachers leave a legacy, and the legacy she left me is great and lasting, living today in the form of my family. She suggested I apply to her alma mater, Saint Mary College, and even nominated me for a scholarship there. Luckily the alternate scholarship I was awarded allowed me to attend all four years at SMC (now USM) which truly changed my life. Not only did I earn a degree, I learned and grew as a person, and best of all I met my husband there. If it wasn't for her guidance, I wouldn't have gone, and I wouldn't have my four beautiful sons and this wonderful family that I love so much.
Thank you, Ms. Feuerborn, for believing in me.

What a great legacy Aunt Jane left for so many peoples lives she touched! I am honored that her picture for her obituary is one from our wedding! However, my all time favorite memory of Aunt Jane would be Christmas time! As a kid I could never wait until going to her house for Christmas morning breakfast or Bill and Lynda's! Wherever we went I was so excited to play with Amy's Christmas present from Aunt Jane! She always bought the coolest dolls! To this day I am still so jealous I never had any doll as cool as Amy's doll from Aunt Jane! RIP Aunt Jane!

Dear Family,
We extend our sincere sympathy to all the Feuerborn family. Jane was very "special" to us. She was one of my first students at Garnett High. What a joy! We cherish the times she stopped by for a visit. She became a wonderful friend. May God wrap His loving arms around each of you as you face the days ahead without your loving Aunt Jane. Heaven has indeed gained a "shining star!"
With our love and concern to each of you.

Aunt Jane, I can smell your fried potatoes right now...best ever and Charlie's favorite! We kept Idaho potatoes in business! In fact, I found your recipe just the other day! Never could replicate them!
As an educator, you left your lasting impression on many young lives. As a co-worker, I always appreciated your wisdom and humor you provided. As a friend, our discussions and visits, usually around the dinner table, will always be remembered! Thank you!
To the Feuerborn Family, please accept our heartfelt condolences.

Jane was a lovely soul inside and out. I enjoyed just listening to her talk. She always gave me insight about our grandparents since Grandma Feuerborn died before I was born and Grandpa died when I was 4. I felt as if I knew them when Jane would talk. She had a wonderful smile and laugh that lit up a room.
Rest in peace cousin Jane. Your legacy will live on in everyone's heart.
