I have known and worked with Jerry for many years. He always had a humorous story to tell. One story I remember him telling was about him working with his dad and they were working on a drilling rig and he got to pull the line out when they shot off the nitro glicerine and he ran as hard as he could go but it wasn't fast enough . . . he got clobbered. He always laughed at that story. He will be greatly missed by all of us in the oil business and everyone who knew or came into contact with him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Jerry was another Grandfather to me growing up. Our families have always been very close. I remember going to their house on Halloween and him always having something up his sleeve to scare us kiddies. He will be greatly missed.

Jerry Kent was more than a friend. I grew up in the Kent family. His son Vince was my best friend . Or as we called each other brothers. So Jerry was like a dad. I worked for him 12 years and there was not a better man to work for. He was very good to my family. I always have a special place in my heart for him. He was one of kind. He was good oil man, husband, father, grandfather and friend. I was lucky to have him in my life. As the Kent family. Gob bless him and his family

Jerry and I met in Kindergarten 75 years ago this September. We became fast friends then and have remained close friends ever since. He was a great person to be around and some of my fondest memories come from my long and close friendship with him. I will miss him greatly but am grateful for all of the years I had him as my friend. I'll always remember one of the many humerous stories that Jerry told on himself. He had gone to work for his dad in the oil field. He bought a new watch with his first pay check. He was showing it to his dad who asked him why he was waisting his money on a watch. Jerry said "so I'll know when to go to work and when its time to quit." His dad said "you don't need any watch for that. Rose Lee will tell you when to go to work, and I'll tell you when you can quit."

Jerry was such a good man, he did alot for my family over the years and will be remembered not only for the way he helped us out but also for the sense of humor he had. I will always remember how much fun the kids had going to Jerry & Rosa Lee's to "trick or treat" on Halloween night. He was always hiding in the bushes to scare them which made the night. Jerry will be greatly missed and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Saturday morning breakfasts were always fun with great food, stories, and just plain talk. Jerry always recommended a good place to eat and he was an amazingly talented story teller. I'll remember many but always the one about the itinerant field hand who woul show up when " the sun rose straight up 4th St."
Everyone will miss Jerry.
