I first met Marcia at Garnett Hospital when she was a nurse, I was an aide. I planned to go to nsg school and we had many conversations about that. She was such an inspiration then and later when I saw her at a School Nurse conference in Wichita, me being a school nurse. I thought that me being a SN like her, was so great! I am so sorry for your loss, and I hope you will get through this most difficult time. She was someone I will always remember and think of often.

I just learned of your sorrow and wish your entire family peace and strength. Marcia was such a lovely lady. She was a good friend and school nurse colleague for many years. Maybe God takes his most trusted servants home around the time of Jesus’ birthday as a reminder to the rest of us what Christmas is truly about.
Speaking of God, I can almost guess what that conversation was like:
God: “Dear child, come home.�
I’m sure you said “But Father, I’m so young!�
God probably smiled and said “Marsha my child, you did more good in your 59 years than most can accomplish in 100.�
And you, always thinking about others: “But what about Tom and the kids?�
God: “You raised 4 amazing young women and they are doing well for themselves. Your years of caring for your family and community taught many people what it means to love and take care of one another. You can trust that people will follow your example, and Tom will be well taken care of.�
And with that, you ascended into your Father’s arms to reap your rewards which I know are plentiful.

What a shock! Tom, Nadine, Don, and all the brothers, sisters, children, and the whole family, you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Growing up around Marcia I remember her as witty, nice, a real fun person to be around. Our paths have not crossed often in the last 40 or so years, but they did last year at Power of the Past. Dear Tom, girls, Don and Nadine. I was saddened to tears when I learned of Marcia's death. She was one of the most compassionate and caring nurse I ever knew. She took care of me when I was in the hospital with all 5 of my kids. When my kids were in school she was so kind to them and just lately she has been looking after my grandson since his concussion.
