Sorry to hear of your loss of Ashley. She was real young when she left Butler so I didn't get to see the beautiful person she became. Remember Marty and Jamie as they were employees of Butler RV. Praying that you will be comforted at this difficult time.

I wasn't a close friend of Ashley's, I was more of an acquaintance. I remember a long time ago she came to Colony and went to Crest for a year or two, can't remember for sure. I remember playing tball with her; she was hard to miss since she was the tallest one on the team! Her family moved on and she attended Marmaton Valley in Moran and boy do I remember playing basketball against her. I dreaded it lol. She was big and tough and I was not really that little but...let's just say I was glad she and I didn't play the same position so I never had to guard her by myself haha. Her passion was unmatched. You could see it in her eyes, she went 100 on the court. And she never seemed timid or unsure of herself, which I both envied and admired.
She was a couple years younger than me, so after I went to college I didn't hear anything about her until couple years later- and I was not surprised to hear that she continued her basketball career in college. I saw her at a mutual friends house some time after that, and I remember how tough she was in sports so I wasn't sure if that's how she was all the time. I quickly found out that wasn't the case. I remember feeling pleasantly surprised that she was nice to everyone, even me lol. That just goes to show you how you don't really know someone until you spend some time with them and see how they interact with other people. She was loud, hilarious, and not so surprisingly competitive in the card games that were being played lol. I'm glad I have that memory of her. I know her friends and family have a million more like that and I'm not claiming to know how they're feeling right now. I just wanted to share what I knew of her, and hopefully make someone smile during this extremely difficult and sad time. I'm sure they have basketball in heaven, and I bet her little brother and Dad were there waiting on her. <3

I was in high school in Butler, MO where Marty Lord helped coach our basketball team one year and I remember Ashley and Austin as sweet young children. Ashley had the love of sports at that time and am so happy to hear she grew to love basketball even more as she got older and followed her dreams.
We are so sorry to hear of her passing and send our thoughts and prayers to your entire family. May God be with you!!

Although I did not know Ashley that long, I was blessed to spend time with her before she relocated to Tennessee. Ashley lived with my best friend Barb Morris for two months and durring that time I saw first hand what a truly caring and loyal friend she was. Barb feels as though Ashley was her adoptive daughter and the whole family loved Ashley being with them. As a mother who has lost a child, my heart goes out to her mother and step father. It is a pain no one should have to bare. Please know you all hold a very special place in my heart and Ashley will never be forgotten.

Jamie and Mike and family,
So sorry for your loss. I remember Miss Ashley and her grandpa at her grandparents lords auction. Jeff and I had purchased some cement chickens from the auction. Has we went to leave Ashley and her grandpa came up and Ashley said can I buy those from you they were my grandma's and I always remember how she loved them.
We of coarse made sure Ashley left with those chickens that day. But I remember the love she had for her family just by seeing how much she loved those old chickens. Her smile and her eyes just lite with excitement when she was talking of memories of the chickens and her grandma lord.
She was an amazing young lady and we just want you all to know we are praying for you all and sending our love in this difficult time.
Love from the Cochran and Stiffler family.

Jamie, my heart hurts for you. I wish there was something I could say or do to take this pain from you, but only time and God can heal and fill this void. You have so many wonderful memories of Ashley. My kids and I have reminisced so much the last few days about their antics with Ashley. Oh, if they were still teenagers they would be in so much trouble from what I've heard lately! But they made fun and memorable times together and they treasure each and every one of them. I hope you know that your church family is wrapping you in prayer and love you and Mike so much. We are here for you in any capacity we can be. We love you!!

Jamie and the whole family,
I am so sorry for your loss and what your all are going through during this time. Ashley was such a beautiful person both inside and out. I once heard if we had all the power of God, there would be a lot of things we would change. But if we had His wisdom and vision, we wouldn't change a thing. It's so hard to see His reasons for allowing certain things to happen but I want to leave you with this:
Colossians 3:15 "Let the Peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."
My deepest condolences,
Lindsay Johnson (LJ)
