Clara and All My Special Rockers Friends ~ My thoughts and prayers are with each of you as you reflect on Les' life and all the special memories. I have many memories of laughing at something he said and visiting with him...he was a hoot! I wish you peace as you mourn his passing, but know he is in a glorious place. Much love to you all!!

I was so very sorry to hear of Les's passing. Les was 4 years older than myself and one generation ahead of me in the John & Kathrine Mader family tree.
I remember pitching baseball against Les a couple of times. He could be struck out with a round house curve, but throw a fastball or change-up and you better get out of the way.
Our prayers are with Les and his fine family,
Clyde Mader

Clara and family, Our sympathy on your loss. Les was always such a strong man and nothing was harder to see than to watch him change with Alzheimer's. But his love for all of you never changed. Growing up and seeing Les daily was part of our lives. We saw him work sun up to sun down and into the night. He did what he truly loved. He was so proud of all of his family we all remember the day the triplets were born and Les became a TV star in the news. The breaks during harvest time to have a cold beer and pitch a game or two of horseshoes. The times we went swimming in the creek. My favorite memory was not as funny at the time as it is thinking back now. We always tagged along with Dad, Merle and Les. Les once in a awhile slipped a cuss word and being kids we would repeat what we heard. And we all know my Mom / AKA Aunt Rosetta did not approve of cussing. So I slipped out one of Les's favorite cuss words and she had Dad's bar of lava soap in my mouth scrubbing away. I said Les says it all the time and he never gets his mouth washed out with soap. She said well if he says it when I'm around I might wash his mouth out too. Well I know now Les is up in heaven catching up with all of those who have gone before him. Cherish the memories of all the family picnics, hayrides, cold beers keep Les alive in your hearts forever. Rest In Peace
