Joel, I just recently found out about the loss of your mother. I remember the conversation we first had when I found out she was ill and you kept your chin up the entire time. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Just remember, you've got about 4000+ brothers and sisters to support you back here at USNA. Take care and God Bless

To the family of Julie Tidd, I am so sorry for your loss. I was in high school when Miss Tarum came to teach! I didn't take band, but I would see her at activities and at the Bowlus when I was there for classes. She was always so nice! My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Julie, Julie, Julie do you love me. We use to sing that, in band and orchestra during warm ups. I am so sorry for your loss. Julie and I were wonderful friends through the years. She will be missed and she is in our hearts. God bless you, my dear and your family. I will see you one day soon. Have your flute warmed up and I will bring by clarinet for a duet once again, like we use to do at State Competition! Peace be with You!

so sorry to read about Julie's passing. I remember her all the way back to grade school, we shared the same teachers at times. I remember trying so hard to beat her in the competition with Math Flash cards in 4th grade, but she always seemed to win! I appreciated her kindness to everyone. God bless and strengthen the family in your loss.

I am a 1993 graduate of IHS. I never was directly involved in any classes or band of Mrs. Tidd's, but I wanted to let you know what I knew of her. You see when I attended IHS Mrs. Tidd was in her prime, zipping throughout the hallways with the brightest smile on her face, you could tell she truely LOVED what she was doing. I think in passing I may have greeted her with a good day message here and there and the one thing that I will always remember about her was that CONTAGIOUS SMILE!!! I can see her in my mind as I type this, with a grin from cheek to cheek. I felt better after seeing her and that smile. I remember how she moved like lightning in the hallways despite a small stature. What an inspiration to us ALL! I had several friends who were involved in band/music, they always spoke kindly of her, never heard a bad word about her. When I learned of her illness I was saddened, in her passing I am truely sorry. I just wanted her family to know that she will be remembered for a lifetime, not only by those she touched with MUSIC everyday, but even by those she just smiled at in the hallway from time to time. My condolences to her husband and children. But know that GOD only takes the good ones, and Mrs. Tidd was a GOOD EGG!

What wonderful memories I have of Julie. I moved to McPherson for my Senior year of High School. Coming in as a Senior not knowing what to exect, not having had the friendships established of being together as classmates do, Julie made me feel so welcome and made me feel like we had always known one another. I treasure the memories of the many times she went out of her way to include me. Our class will miss her warm smile, kind words, and caring spirit. Know that you are all in my prayers as you celebrate her life, and know she is with the Lord.

My deepest condolences are extended to the entire Tidd and Tarum family. This world lost a very special woman: an exemplary Christian, a wonderful wife, mother, sister and daughter, a dear friend, and an excellent musician and teacher. While those of us left to fulfill the Lord's purpose for each of our lives will grieve her absence from us for a time, we give thanks and praise for the day when we will be reunited and join Julie in praising our Lord eternally. She ran her race well in this life, and is receiving her heavenly rewards. Her life will always be upheld as one of the finest examples of faith, courage and perseverance that many of us will have.
