Obituary of Opal Duggan
Opal Irene Duggan from Gas, KS passed away April 2,2012 at Windsor Place. She was born May 23, 1926 in Skidmore, MO to Dick Earl Gray and Opal Marie Myers who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Iola High School in 1945. She worked at Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator in Iola. She married Curtis Elmer Duggan in 1949 in Bentonville, AR. They farmed in the Iola area. She will be remembered for her beautiful handwork and quilts.
She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis in 1993; brother Earl Gray, and sister Dorothy Ann Beatty. She is survived by her sister-in-laws Anita Gray of Bentonville, AR and Carolyn Dreher of Iola; her son, Rick Duggan and his wife Karen of Overbrook, KS and daughter Kathryn Ann of Baldwin City, KS; her daughter Debbie Wall of Pittsburg, KS and her children Anna and Garrick Ogle of Chanute, KS, Maegan and Corey Emerson of Iola, KS and Travis and Angie Wall of Savonburg, KS; and great-grandchildren Kyleigh, Alexis and Dylan Ogle, Lily Bartley and Broden Emerson.
VISITATION: 7:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the funeral home.
BURIAL: Highland Cemetery, Iola, KS
MEMORIAL: Allen County 4-H Council
