Obituary of David Burke
David J. Burke, 53, of Piqua, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at his home.
David was born December 9, 1959, in Iola, Kansas, the son of Lewis "Ben" and Wilma J. (Wille) Burke. He grew up in the Piqua area.
In 1978 he joined the Kansas National Guard and served until the time of his death. He was deployed to Iraq and several other foreign countries. He also operated Dual County Sanitation and later Dave's Trash Service for a number of years. At the present time he owned 5 O'Clock Somewhere.
Dave married Brenda Johnson and they later divorced. In 1995, he and Robin Myers were married and they made their home at Piqua.
He was a member of the Iola American Legion and Knights of Columbus.

1 Grandson: Bryson
3 Step-Grandsons: Hunter, Jesse & Khoner

He was preceded in death by his mother, brother Steven Burke, daughter-in-law Veronica Burke and granddaughter Lilly Burke.
VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola
FUNERAL MASS: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Piqua, KS
BURIAL: St. Martin's Cemetery with full military honors
