Obituary of Robert R. Hepner
Robert R. "Bob" Hepner, age 85, of Garnett, Kansas, a long-time resident and businessman of Conway, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at the Residential Living Center, Garnett.
He was born March 2, 1930 at Garnett, Kansas, the son of the late Roland R. and Marie (Graham) Hepner. He graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1947.
Bob served during the Korean War in the United States Navy, and also served in the United States Air Force. He was a light aircraft private pilot. He graduated from the University of Nebraska as an Industrial Engineer. Bob retired from the Real Estate business as a Broker, developer, designer, and builder and was the owner/operator of several small businesses in the Conway, Arkansas area. Bob was also the author of nine books, and was a square dance instructor, a line dance instructor at several Senior Citizens Centers in and around Garnett.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Hepner; an infant sister, Ada Jo Hepner, both of Garnett; a grandson, Christopher Knopp of Conway, Arkansas.
Bob is survived by his sister, Dorothy Bowman of Garnett, Kansas; daughter, Rhonda Brown of Conway, Arkansas; sons, Robert Hepner Jr. of Vilonia, Arkansas; Randy Ralston of Las Vegas, Nevada; Ronnie Ralston of Manteca, California; grandchildren, Nicole Simon of Conway, Arkansas; Kimberly Hepner of Conway, Arkansas; Courtney Paradela of Manteca, California; Randi Schlecht of Papillion, Nebraska; three great grandsons of Papillion, Nebraska; a great granddaughter of Conway, Arkansas; and a loving companion Marilyn Smith of Paola, Kansas.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 4, 2015, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Family will greet friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Garnett Senior Center and left in care of the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 27, 2015, at the Garnett Cemetery in Garnett, Kansas.
