Obituary of Duane W. Frazier

Duane Wesley Frazier, age 83, of Riverside, California, formerly of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at his home. He was born on August 18, 1931, in rural Anderson County, Kansas, the son of John and Mabel (List) Frazier. They moved to Garnett, Kansas in 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in January 1950 and spent 26 years in the military being promoted to Senior Master Sergeant before he retired. He also served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Duane married Charlotte Ann Rasmussen on August 24, 1952 at the Methodist Church in Garnett. Five children were born to their union, Cheri, Sandy, Terry, Dianna, and David. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 6397, the Lions Club, and First United Methodist Church. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mabel Frazier; his wife, Charlotte Frazier; and son-in-law, Bruce Hoffman. He is survived by his brother, Ray Frazier and wife Carolyn of Garnett, Kansas; daughters, Cheri Finn of Riverside, California; Sandy Hoffman of Nixa, Missouri; Terry Adams and husband Joe of Garnett; Dianna Crary and husband Jim of Ashland, Oregon; son, David Frazier and wife Karen of Rose Hill, Kansas; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church, Garnett, with burial to follow in the Garnett Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
