Obituary of Frances Lillian Poling
Frances Poling, age 83, of Moran, Kansas, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015, at the Allen County Hospital in Iola, Kansas.
She was born on October 27, 1931, in LaHarpe, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Scott and Ruby (Morrison) Baker. She graduated from high school in 1949, and then from Research Hospital Nursing School. She worked as a RN before meeting her future husband in Kansas City, Missouri.
Frances was united in marriage to Paul J. Poling on November 14, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri. This union was blessed with two children, Franceen and Paul.
She was a member of Open Circle Club in Moran; Treasurer of Rural Waste District; and she volunteered at the Moran Public Library for many years. Frances enjoyed reading, gardening and flowers.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Paul Poling on July 6, 2004.
She is survived by her children, Franceen Holt of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; Paul Scott Poling of Paola, Kansas; five grandchildren, Ashlee Abbott, Wesley Holt, Kallie Hendren, Annie Poling, and Keith LaRue; seven great grandchildren; and one brother, Scott Baker and wife Laura of Osawatomie, Kansas.
