I met Gus when Jim and Kelli got married .It was pretty evident how close Jim and Gus were. Even though they did compete with each other on their gardening skills. Our family and your family spent a lot of holidays together. Gus and I never had too many conversation together but just observing him I could tell how much he loved his Mother and his boys.You could see the pride on his face at the boys sporting events. I know you will never understand what happened but you have your good memories, keep them in mind. Now instead of Gus and Jim competing for who is the best gardener, Gus is now being schooled by the master - Lou Wolken

We have so many memories from softball and going to Hutch every summer. He will be missed by our family. There are no words that we can say to ease the pain you are all feeling now. Just remember that your Dad, Son, Brother, Uncle , Nephew, Friend , Gus loved you all. We have no idea why he decided it was his time. We just have to accept this was something God had in his plan. To make us all become a better, more caring, loving person because of taking Gus at this time. We can pray that he is at peace and we will see him again when our turn in this life ends. To the family and especially the boys I want to express my deepest sympathy. As we become adults and start our lives sometimes it is from a distance from family and friends. We return sometimes in person but often in thoughts, and for me when I thought of greeley and home Gus was always there in my mind. Many of my foundest memories as growing up as a teenager usually involved Gus in one way or another. From coming to get me to ride around, only to remember he had to help Lou haul 400 bales of hay in first once I was trapped, to not having a convertible so let's build are own. I have many of these Gus stories in my memories and hope to share with all someday, as my children have heard them often, as we tend to do as we age. Cheerful, grinning, onery, compassionate is how I remember Gus to be, and that's how it will be. My thoughts are with you all. Travis
