Jerry, Paula & Diana,
I got to know Wilma 36 years ago when we both worked in Garnett for United Telephone. After the service center closed, several of us went to Gardner to work. We rode in the same car pool. When the weather was bad, here us women would be on our cordless phones outside shuffling our feet either on the gravel or highway trying to decide if it was too slick to go. Vary seldom, did we not. Even though there were times we wondered if we made the right decision, but God kept us safe for many years. Those sure were memorable times!
Two things I know for sure, Wilma was faithful to God, and she loved her family.
May God comfort each and everyone of you as he sees the need.
Thinking and keeping you in our prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear of Wilma's passing. I had spoken to her a couple weeks ago and hadn't returned her call, yet. We worked together at Sprint until the company closed here at Garnett, about ten years. I will miss her voice. My children; Karyn Mader, and Leslie Scheckel were always teasing with Wilma. They would come out to the telephone building after school let out and wait to ride home with me after work. She will be missed by all of us.

I am deeply saddened to hear of wilmas passing.......she was a wonderful person. although I did not know her well, I did know her well enough to know that she was a loving and generous person. she called me at work not to long ago. just out of the blue..she said she would be in town one of these days and we must go to lunch. that day never came....I thought of her often, even more lately...now I know why...the angels in heaven have a great new angel to watch over us..........kris rourk westco home furnishings. iola ks

Paula, Jerry, Dianna, Jay, and families, I was sadden to learn of Wilma's passing. I enjoyed working with Wilma all those years she helped in the 4-H Food Stand after working for Sprint all day. We would get to laughing the later it got while cleaning up the food stand. As a community leader she gave 100% and more. She and I would meet at the library, each of us getting books and we would chat. My prayers for you and your family.

To Jay and all the family,
Our sincere sympathy to all of you at the loss of your loved one. It was my privilege as a first-year teacher to have Wilma in my secretarial classes at Garnett High. Oh, how Wilma excelled! She was the delight of myself as the teacher, and all those in class with her. Everyone tried to keep up with Wilma. Loved her as a student and also as a very good friend. I am going to miss my calls from her, and also all those notes and letters written in shorthand from time to time. God bless all of you, and may He wrap His loving arms around you as you go through this difficult time. With love from LaVerne and Orville Cole

My thoughts and prayers go out to Wilma's family and friends. She always stopped to chat whenever I saw her in the store. Her smile will be missed. She usually mentioned Paula as we were in the same high school class.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Wilma. She was always such a sweet lady. Always had a smile or a laugh to share. My mom worked with her at the phone company and remained friends after retirement. It was always nice to hear from her and catch up on things when she was volunteering at the hospital. Mom wasn't always with me, but Wilma never failed to ask about her and light up with old memories. What a lovely lady who will be greatly missed. Much love, prays of comfort and fond memories.
