Obituary of Golda Hermreck

Golda Lawhead Hermreck, age 79, passed away April 12, 2009, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was born January 13, 1930 in Elwood, NE, the daughter of Beryl and Mary Taft Lawhead. She attended schools in Nebraska before moving to Cheyenne where she met and married Gerald "Jerry" Hermreck at age 18 in 1948 and spent many happy years between farming in Kansas and trucking in Cheyenne. Golda spent her early years being a waitress, a darkroom technician at Ludwig Photo, and a seamstress in Cheyenne's sewing factory. As busy as she was her best "job" was raising four children. Following Jerry's retirement in 1980 they divided their time between Garnett, Kansas and Cheyenne, Wyoming. After Jerry's death in 1986 she moved back to Cheyenne Holiday Inn until her own retirement. Even after retirement she couldn't sit still so she helped her children and grandchildren build their houses and plant their gardens. Somewhere she found time to read, sew, paint, do plastic canvas, trace her ancestors, and love her family. She is survived by a son Jerry Hermreck and his wife Mary; three daughters, Mary and her husband William Wininger, Shirley and her husband Roger Ashworth, and Carol and her husband George Miyake. Fifteen grandchildren and their spouses; Jennifer Hermreck, Jerry Hermreck, Jr., David and Jenny Hermreck, Miranda Siefers, Kari Latimer, Bethany and Derek Gregory, Dusti Rose Wininger, William and Beth Wininger Jr., Misty and David Whetstone, April and Justin Talkington, Roger and Casey Ashworth Jr., Cindy and Greg Iovan, Suzan and Robert Crouch, George Miyake Jr., and Brian and Carrie Miyake.
