Eileen and family...I am thinking of you with so much compassion and sympathy. After watching the videos, it is so refreshing to see how much you and Randy enjoyed each other and your sons. I think back to the time when we worked together at PJ's...I loved you and want you to know I can't begin to feel your pain, but wish you peace in the days to come. It's hard to understand the whys, but just remember that Randy is looking down on you and your family and will be your guardian angel with each new phase of your lives. May God's eternal light shine your way and grant you an abundance of blessings. Love and Friendship Always, Carma

His life affected us all, and his death does likewise. We'll remember his wit, his humor, his intelligence, his love of music, friends and good times. It's not fair to him or to us that he left so soon. Eileen and family -- my love and sympathy to all of you; know that others grieve with you. Try to dwell on the enrichment that knowing and having him brought you, rather than on the pain of your loss. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

JoeAnn and I are saddened by the passing of Randy. We had hoped that he could overcome this disease. Your family and Randy have been so nice and accomodating to two strangers from a different location in the country. I know that Randy loved you as he made an unsoliciated remark to that effect to me. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this trying time. Please accept our sympathies to you and your sons. If we can help in any way during your mourning, please let us know.

Dear Eileen, Jeremy,Heath,Andrew,Seth, Ella Mae, Mike, Jean, and Eli:
I met Huckelberry Finn long before I ever read about him in Mr. Clemmen's book. Randy Johns was truly the prototype American boy and man. He was a great friend to me and I will never forget the adventures we had growing up.
But most importantly, he was a great son, brother, father, and husband. His children will be his lasting legacy.
I will never forget the twinkle of mischief in his eyes when Mrs. Robbins opened the door of to our Algebra class to find Randy standing there waving at her! Only seconds before, he had been sitting two rows behind her. When she turned to write a problem on the board, he had left his seat, hadjumped out the ground floor window at Kincaid High School and had sprinted to the door before she even had a chance to notice he was gone. It was probably at that moment that she wondered why she had left her 40 year job as a missionary in the Belgian Congo to come to Kincaid to teach freshmen!!
This is a tremendous loss and I don't know how to deal with it. The thoughts and prayers of our family are with you.

Ella Maye, I have been so blessed to have known you all these years. Earl and I have so many beautiful memories of this guy' Randy and his family that they get all tangled up inside of me. Lone Elm Randy 7th grade. He helped pick up my 'Falcon' car and set it "back" on the road so I could drive home. we kept track through the years of the boys through visits with Ella Maye. Some years later I drove a van to lone Elm and among others picked up 4 lively boys(yours and Eileen's heading for Bible school in Colony. Eileen I remember you from then and wish I had got to know you better at that time.Oh Yes! this is this is the first time I had seen Randy with a beard. WOW! I asked if I was at the right house! Our love for Randy and his family has grown through the years especially as I became closer to you, Eileen. I have been blessed to know you.May God Bless and Comfort you nd yours in the days ahead.Call on me any time! I will be there for you. Our Love in Christ Jesus for all of you. Mary and Earl Clemans.

I remember when Randy was a substitute for Mr. Kraft when I was in high school. He was a great substitute and extremely knowledgeable with the wood working business. When I see the kitchen cabinets at the Kincaid-Selma Methodist church, I really see his excellent worksmanship. He was a very nice and caring person. My thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family in this very tough time. your friend Brian Stansbury

Randy met me when i was mere 8 year old and had just moved to Lone Elm and I befriended his sons and family. He instructed not only in woodworking in 4-H but in life until I reached my early teens. He distilled in me a sense of hardwork and taking pride in what i do amongst other lessons that still remain with me today. I can still remember my first lessons with him in woodworking to stay at and always with a good word to make me have faith in what I was doing. Also, I can't count the times he took me fishing with him and his sons and treated me as if I was one of them. The many years I have been away from his company will toll on me for the rest of my days and no matter how many candles are lit here today in my eyes they are not so bright as the one he lit in me many years ago. I always thought of him as sort of a surrogate father and as such I will surely and sincerely miss him. It is curious how time flies when you are young; how you think there will always be time later. I regret now that I didn't get back in touch with him. Randy, wherever you are I am sure that you are doing the things you always loved most just know that those of left behind will miss you and one of these days I relish the chance once more to go fishing with you and talk like we used to whether it is in heaven or only in my dreams. Thank you for all you have ever done for me there is no way I could ever repay for what you have done.

A big part of my childhood involves the many times that the Johns boys and I played together in the little town of Lone Elm. I have special memories of making hay bail forts, swimming, and fishing. We often resorted to using bubble-gum as bait, when we ran out of worms. Thanks for giving us this website. My family enjoyed the old and the new photos. Eileen, if you ever come to Joplin to see Andrew, please give us a call (417)781-6238.

To the Wonderful Family and Friends of Randy:
It is at times like these that I wish I had the ability and talent of a great writer. All I have, unfortunately, is the desire to put into words how I feel and how much I will miss Randy. We have been "Pals" as well as cousins since birth. There was never a summer or a Christmas that we weren't together. When we were kids, the 250 miles that separated us was a long trip. In the summer we three, (Randy, Mike, and I) would travel millions of miles, (on foot), and have a billion adventures, and would never run out of new things to do. Even when it rained, we would get a hard hitting game of monopoly going that would last for hours, if not for days. Randy was the best at it because he was always one step ahead of Mike and I and would have a "Game Plan", figured out. He was always the Banker because he could make change. When we played Pirates, Mike and I had a stick as a sword, and Randy made a sword out of lath or some other wood, that would have an equal point and a handle, hard to beat a pirate with a weapon like that. Randy loved music, The Beatles, and Emmy Lou Harris. He would load up the record player, out in the "Chicken House" with 45's, and sometimes have to tape a nickel on the arm so it wouldn't skip. And Randy played BOTH sides of the record, and ALL tracks on an album, what a guy. My greatest challenge was to get Randy to laugh, not just the chuckle that everyone knew, but the big laugh till you can't breath type. I once got Randy to laugh so hard that he blew pop out of his nose, just one time, I never had that great of material again. I think we were probably 13 or 14. As we grew up we never stopped getting together. That is one thing about Randy and his wonderful wife, Eileen, a person was ALWAYS welcome in their home. Randy will be missed by many more people than I will ever know. Randy left behind a wonderful wife and sons, sons that were the pride of his life, and he left behind the rest of his family and a million, no, billion friends. He went on ahead, but we will catch up someday, and when we do, Randy will be there waiting for us with that famous grin, still have the best sword, and still be the best at Monopoly. I will see you later, My Friend. Lyle
