Patricia Ann Summers, age 58, of Parker, Kansas, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at her home. Patricia was born on February 24, 1951, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Loman and Geraldine (Chisam) Whalen. She graduated from Parker High School in 1969. She was united in marriage to Jerry Summers on June 21, 1969, at the Parker United Methodist Church. Patricia was a homemaker and she worked as a Para for Hillsdale Elementary School from 1998 to 2003. She was a member of the Parker City Council for 6 years. Patricia enjoyed photography, decorating wedding cakes, and stock car races. She was preceded in death by her father. Patricia is survived by her husband, Jerry Summers, of the home; two sons, Jason and Rachel Summers and their son, Hunter Summers of Parker, Kansas; Jerrod Summers and Caroline Crawford and son, Keanu Roush of Parker, Kansas; one daughter, Vonne Summers and Chad Clark and children Loman Wilson, Gera Wilson, Brody Wilson, Zach Clark, Jake Clark, and Lindsay Clark of Parker, Kansas; her mother, Geraldine "Dean" Whalen of Parker, Kansas; one sister, Pam Breedlove and husband Gary of Parker, Kansas; one brother, Gary Whalen and wife Linda of St. Louis, Missouri. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2009, at the Beagle Cemetery in Beagle, Kansas. She will lie in state after 10:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral and medical expenses.
