Sylvia O. Sutton, age 88, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away June 22, 2008 in Stockton, Missouri. She was born June 13, 1920 near Selma, Kansas, the daughter of Willie and Mary (Bump) Olson. She attended one year at Anticot School and the family moved to the Pleasant Ridge neighborhood near Lone Elm and finished school. She worked as a housekeeper for eight years, living in Anderson County all of her life except one year. Sylvia married Harold Willis Sutton on August 15, 1944 at Garnett, Kansas. This union was blessed with five children. They celebrated their Golden Wedding in August of 1994, and lived all their married life on the farm near Greeley, Kansas. She enjoyed canning and pie making and taught 4H girls jelly making. She was a member of the Kansas Historical Society of Topeka; of the Extension Home Maker Unit and of the Assembly of God Church in Garnett, Kansas. She loved her family and enjoyed doing for them. They were all very special to her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Mary Olson; her husband, Harold Sutton on November 1, 1996; one son, Glen Sutton; and her brothers and sisters. Sylvia is survived by one son, Darryl Sutton and wife Georgia of Stockton, Missouri; three daughters, Darlene Richison and husband Jason of Ft. Scott, Kansas; Sharon Seelnacht and husband Ernest of McHenry, Mississippi; and Donna Osler of Princeton, Kansas; one sister, Goldie Hardesty of Garnett, Kansas; Ten grandchildren and Twelve Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday June 25, 2008 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Garnett Chapel, with burial to follow at the Garnett Cemetery. Family will be present to greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
