Lloyd, Kirk and family,
Peggy was such a special lady. I remember meeting her probably 40yrs ago through my sister-in-law Janice who was like a sister to her.
She always had a smile on her face. She was talented at everything, she just had a way to decorate or whatever.
I remember the trick with the rat I pulled on her when we were carving turkeys for a wedding dinner. She screamed and I felt bad, I told her I was sorry. We had a laugh later. That was Peg always the smile and a friend

I am so saddened to hear about Peggy's passing. I haven't seen her in decades, but I grew up with her & her brothers, and I always remember how popular she was in high school ... everyone loved her. I also borrowed one of her dresses for my first prom, and I can still remember what it looked like. I think I also may have inherited her pep club cardigan sweater, and I still have it. My heart goes out to her family & friends ... I know she will will be missed dearly!

My memories of Peggy Jo Studer Sumner go back to our early years in Beattie. We were the closest of friends during our St. Malachy's School years and remained in touch throughout our lives. We e-mailed in recent years and had always sent birthday cards to each other. I received my last birthday card from Peggy on Monday of this week, a day before my birthday. God bless Peggy Jo and her family!

Our block and our lives will not be as full of light with the passing of Mrs. Sumner. We have enjoyed her seasonal porch with her spreading cheer on the darkest and coldest nights. We will miss her over-zealous waves, so full of energy it would make her pony tail bounce! We don't know what we would of done without her guidance and understanding in help raising our son. The holidays will not be the same without her treat bags at Halloween and delicious fudge and treats at Christmas. She is sadly missed and loved by her neighbors, Brian, Nell, Justin, Cheyenne & Madeleine Stockdall.

Mrs. Sumner was a great educator and mentor in my life. She helped me channel my energy in a positive direction. She had a strong influence in my life and I never wanted to disappoint her. I am saddened that such a bright light is gone. It saddens me more that other kids will not have her influence. I was proud that we remained friends after my high school days.

Dear Lloyd and Kirk,
I want to thank you for letting me be a part of your family. Peggy was the "mom" who was there for us when we needed that input that only a mom could give. Lloyd, you too were a rock for several of us. Zoie and Mitchell often use the blanket that Peggy made for them. It will always hold a special place in their lives. We love you.

Lloyd, I am very saddened by Peggy's death and wanted very much to be with you there today as you celebrate her life. However, because of health issues, I am unable to come and so my thoughts and prayers are with you today. Peggy, you know, was a true friend to me. She was also a true counselor mentor and a wonderful Natural Helper. I was always amazed at her energy and how one person could accomplish so much in such a short time. She loved students, believed in them, and was an advocate for each young person even when opposed. You and she were a great team, working together to fulfill the needs of others. She left a legacy of faith, joy and compassion and she will be sorely missed in this world.
My heart goes out to you.
Your friend, Betty

I just happened upon Peggy's obituary this evening. I am so sad to hear of her death. I was one of Peggy's students at Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, KS. I was on the cheerleading squad and Peggy was our sponsor. She was a great support to me and helped me through some difficult high school times. I am now an educator and as I look back I can say that she was one of the inspirations in my life that lead me to be a teacher and now an elementary school principal. My prayers are with her family, and I am sure that she is now in the light of our Lord.
