Obituary of William R. Henderson
William R. Bill Henderson, age 61, of Osawatomie, Kansas, formerly of Colony, Kansas, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Life Care Center at Osawatomie, Kansas.
He was born on December 9, 1946, at Iola, the son of Glen and Verna (Laymon) Henderson. He graduated from Colony High School and Emporia State University. Bill worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Comstock Lumber. He owned the Halfway House Saloon; worked for Twin Motors; and was a paper carrier for The Kansas City Star up until his illness.
Bill played softball for many years. He liked to fish and hunt with his loyal dog, Zippy. He enjoyed attending car races, and watching KU Basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents; several uncles, and one aunt.
Bill is survived by his sister Glenda Comstock and husband David of Colony, Kansas; nephew Shawn Comstock and wife Brenda and Danielle, Tyler, Jacob, Kody, Kyle and Cody Eash of Burlington, Kansas; niece Audra Miller and husband Greg and McCall of Joplin, Missouri; daughter Candi and husband Cayle Ranabargar, granddaughters Haylie, Hunter and Camrie of Chanute, Kansas; four aunts and many cousins.
