Obituary of Roberta Mae Badders
Roberta Mae Badders, age 89, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away May 29, 2008 at the Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas.
She was born on April 9, 1919, at Bush City, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph Floyd McGinnis and Calla Beatrice (Harding) McGinnis.
Roberta grew up and attended school in Bush City.
In March of 1934, she married Darwin Dee Badders. To this union, fourteen children were born, ten boys and four girls. Surviving eleven children are: Darwin Badders of Uniontown, Kansas; Clifford Badders and wife Gypsy of Ottawa, Kansas; Claude Badders of Brighton, Tennessee; Gerald Badders and wife Orvilla of Osawatomie, Kansas; Donald Badders and wife Millie of Iola, Kansas; Douglas Badders and wife Robin of Welda, Kansas; Rodney Badders and wife LeAnna of Princeton, Kansas; John Badders and wife Dana of Wellsville, Kansas; Donna Meyer and husband Don of Ottawa, Kansas; Delores Willis and husband Roy of Wellsville, Kansas; and Norma Tahash of Summit City, California.
One sister, Freda Johnson of Warrensburg, Missouri also survives.
Roberta has twenty grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Darwin in December, 1977; two sons; one daughter; and three grandchildren; two brothers, Truman and Joseph McGinnis; and one sister, Bernadine Yelton.
Besides being a wonderful mother and homemaker she was employed at the Anderson County Hospital, Garnett, for thirty years. She enjoyed her job and the people she worked with during this time. She was a member of Community Foursquare Church in Ottawa. She made Ottawa her home since 1991.
Roberta will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Interment will follow in the Garnett Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice of Ottawa, Kansas, and left in care of the funeral home.
