Mathew Agnew, age 84, formerly of Westphalia, Kansas, died on Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Golden Heights Living Center in Garnett, Kansas. He was born on January 19, 1924, in Westphalia, Kansas, the son of John and Anna May (Harrigan) Agnew. He grew up in the Westphalia area. In the early 1980s, he moved to Arkhaven in Garnett, later known as Guest Home Estates. He spent the last three years at Golden Heights Living Center in Garnett, Kansas. Matt was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Robert Agnew; and four sisters, Mary McDonald, Catherine Williams, Anna Drumm, and Patricia Agnew. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 10, 2008 at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Westphalia, Kansas. Interment will follow in the St. Teresa Cemetery in Westphalia, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to ANARC (Anderson County Association of Retarded Citizens).
