Kathleen posted a condolence
My favorite memories of "Dad" have to be the singing, dancing and his great big smile. The last time I saw him he asked me if I remembered calling him Dad. I will never forget him. Love, Kathleen

I remember Elaine's birthday parties when the family still lived in the rock house. We would eat "sheepshower" in the yard. Our families were so similiar. We had about the same amount of kids and our parents had the same family values. We learned how to work, love, live and keep god in our lives.

Win and Maria Lander and Family posted a condolence
We will always remember the time we played cards and Win and Clair did a duet. Clair loved music and played the harmonica well. Clair and Agnes loved living on the farm and watching the wildlife. They make others feel comfortable and like family. May Clair rest in peace. With sympathy and prayers, Win, Maria, Chris and Emily Lander

Craig Mader posted a condolence
To Agnes and Family, Uncle Clair (my Great Uncle), How memorable a man, what a presence and personality, and what a self-taught musician on piano and harmonica, who also, with Agnes, made a wonderful musically talented family. I won't forget him. My Dad, Clyde, and me and my brothers experienced and enjoyed Uncle Clair. One of the coolest guys I've known. The youngest brother of my Grandfather, Mark. A talented baseball player who I emulated along with my Uncle Mark Mader, son of Grandpa Mark. The stories I've heard from my Dad, Clyde, so many stories it's so fun to reminisce. I would have loved to see him play baseball. The best story was him sticking me on his horse to ride around the pasture (Fred was there) and the dad-gum horse stood on my foot before I could mount, and he had to control himself to keep from laughing his ass off. I didn't dare let out a peep. Our deepest sympathies and absolutely all or our love. I'm glad I had a real quality phone conversation with Clair before the end of 2007. All our love, Craig, Michie and Shannan Mader

An ordinary man who made ordinary moments seem extraordinary..his smile, laughter, and joy of life will stay with me forever. I was blessed to know him. His brothers, his sister, their wives, all the generations that came of those unions have always made my life more..just that...more...more joy, more laughter, more happiness, more love. You couldn't meet Clair without having a memory happen. with love always, Rhonda

Steve Courson posted a condolence
I only met Mr. Mader once. I turkey hunt in KS every year and when I passed by this beautiful piece of property I always wanted to stop by and ask the owner if I could hunt his land. One day I got enough courage to stop and ask. Mr. Mader asked me to come in. Mrs. Mader was cooking him a hamburger and it sure smelled good. I joked with him a little bit then popped the question. Guess what? That following spring I was sitting on this wonderful piece of property enjoying a beautiful Kansas sunrise and hearing gobbles it seemed like in every tree. My friend and I killed a turkey that day but the most memorable part of that trip was a gentleman by the name of Clair Mader. I called a couple of times after that spring but I never had the opportunity to hunt that land again. But I will never forget a man that I met just once that made such a pleasant and often thought of memory. God bless the Mader family.
