We will miss our good friend and neighbor....Caroline. We will miss seeing her smiling face and hearing her laughter, seeing her at church, at ballgames. She was a good example to us all, never wanting to give up even when the "going got tough".
Heaven is a brighter, happier place now that Our Lord has taken Caroline home. May He hold her always in the palm of His hand.
With our love and sympathy,

I feel very fortunate that I had the chance to work with Caroline the last two years. One vivid memory is when Caroline had to flee her classroom due to unwanted visitors (Mice). She did not like sharing her classroom with them, the mice even found the time to attend one of her parent/teacher conferences!! If I remember correctly the parent tried to catch it for her!
Caroline was so caring, brave, and tenderhearted she will be missed by all who knew her. May the good Lord help all of you through this difficult time.

She showed by example that it was important to love what you do and spend time with those that you love. I believe that we are all suffering because of her death but we have also all become better people in knowing her during her life. May you all find some twinkle of light in this darkness and remember to put a smile on just as Caroline always did. God bless you!!! Mackayla Martin

We really didn't know Caroline. I always asked when i was able to talk to someone from kansas, how she was doing. I also have breast cancer and have since 1999. It is a hard fight (I am probably not telling you anything you don't know) and from what I saw of Caroline at Marie Feuerborn's visitation she was fighting. That took alot to come to a visitation as sick as she was. I wanted to come over and talk to her at that time, but I didn't know what to say and was afraid to say the wrong thing. I wish I had of now, I wish we had been able to talk and maybe get to know each other. From what we saw and have heard she was one wonderful person, and she fought hard. You should be very proud of her.
The only memory we have of caroline is seeing her at the visitation 2 weeks bfore she passed.

On Easter morning, I visited the cemetery where my first grandchild Seth is buried. He would have enrolled in Kindergarten this fall. As I said my prayer for him, I asked him to please find Caroline, climb on her lap, and give her a hug and a kiss. I can't think of a better person to help watch over him. Caroline has been wonderful with children, she chose the right field when she became a teacher! Her compassion and caring were so evident. I was always proud to know that Caroline came from Westphalia School!

Caroline was an inspiration to us all. I will always remember how caring she was with our children. She had a wonderful way with our talk-a-tive Tyler. When he was in her class she told us she'd only believe half of what he'd say about us if we'd only believe half about her. Emma liked to stop in her classroom on her way to the restroom or to get a drink to listen to Caroline reading a story or just to see what she was doing, Caroline would always have to convince her to go back to her own classroom. Caroline once gave Emma a book for doing such a good job at the spring music concert, this was very special to Emma. Ryland was so happy to see a friendly face at school- that wasn't his sister. Noah took to Caroline letting her be one of the very few to hold him without wanting his mommy right back. Caroline will always be very special to us all and will forever be in our hearts.

They absolutely love you! I'm sure you know just how special you are to me, you always have been and always will be. I only wish, like everyone else, that we would have had more time together. I was in Caroline's high school class, and I remember her as a kind person, in a way that I think is sometimes rare at that age. I remember meeting her on the first day of school our freshman year in a speech class and thinking how easy-going and nice she seemed on a day when I think many freshmen (including myself) were feeling stressed and nervous. She was probably feeling the same way, but she had an easy laugh and talking to her put me at ease.

Caroline it has been almost 9 years since you left this earth. You are still such a part of everyone lives. I make sure that when I talk with my granddaughters I tell them about you. I want them to know you and how special a lady you were.
We went to the movie "The Shack" and we saw your parents there. It was a movie that made you really think more about God and the after life.
I for sure came a way thinking you were in such a better place. No more chemo, radiation, the sickness that you endured for so long. You are now at peace and pain free. I hope your folks walked away feeling a little comfort.
Please keep an eye on your family they think of you always. Love always
