Barbara A. Katzer, age 73, of Greeley, Kansas, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. Barbara Ann Aggerholm Whalen was born on June 27, 1935, at St. Joseph, Missouri. She was the daughter of Francis and Kathleen (Sheridan) Whalen. She graduated from Lillis High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1952. On October 8, 1960, she was united in marriage to Joseph D. Katzer in Kansas City, Missouri. Three daughters were born to this union. She was a member of St. Boniface Church, St. Boniface Altar Society and attended Holy Angels Church, also. She enjoyed writing letters, reading, and making rosaries for Missions. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and her biological mother, June Aggerholm. She is survived by her husband, Joe Katzer, of Greeley, Kansas; three daughters, Angela Marie Plumb and husband Neal of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; Rita Jean Williams and husband Howard of Garnett, Kansas; Sharon L. Wiley and husband Mark of Colony, Kansas; one sister, Margaret "Peggy" Gardner and husband John of Kansas City, Missouri; and ten grandchildren, Kathleen Wiley, Dexter Wiley, Amy Clinton, Stephanie Williams, Aaron Taylor, Jeremiah Taylor, Ethan Capps, Kynza Capps, Brandon Plumb and Nicole Plumb. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Scipio, Kansas. Interment will follow in the Holy Angels Cemetery in Garnett, Kansas. The family will greet friends following a Rosary at 7:00 PM on Friday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Dialysis Services, Ottawa, Kansas or to St. Rose School, Garnett and sent in care of the funeral home.
