We know he had patience, enduring riding around Africa in an SUV with me when I was only 17 and surely obnoxious. Even then I remember thinking how calm and full of wisdom he always was. What an adventurer he was as well, an amazing life he had, and how proud he surely is to have all of you as his legacy.

Dear JoAnne,Boys,Wives and and Gene's grandchildrens,
There is nothing we can say that will ease the loss you feel now. I sat next to Gene last Sunday at breakfast and I do remember one of the things we talked about, a hayride down at Garnett. We hope that someday we can do a hayride in honor of Gene.
The Mass today was just beautiful, I looked over at you all in the front pew and thought what a wonderful family you are. All those beautiful children, what a tribute to your Mom & Dad. Your Mother and Father were a part of our special group, we all enjoyed being together and hope JoAnne will know that we want her to remain a part of our little family.
Gene and JoAnne and their family will always hold a special place in our hearts. Gene is now looking after us and his prenence will always be felt.
