Emma Ruth Dougherty, age 92, of Moran, Kansas, died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Moran Manor. She was born October 10, 1915, in Moran, Kansas, the daughter of Riley Crumpler and Izora (Patterson) Crumpler. She lived nearly all her life in Moran, graduating from Moran High School. She was a member of the Moran United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary of the Jones Hardy Post of Moran. She was a homemaker and provided child care for many Moran children. She married Robert S. (Bing) Dougherty in Shreveport, Louisiana on February 12, 1942. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1989. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis Crumpler, and one sister, Beulah Bartlett. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Donna Grigsby and her husband Stan of Alexandria, Virginia; her son, Rick Dougherty and his wife Idris of Iola, Kansas; four grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
