Funeral services for Delwyn Clare Horn, 88, Garnett, will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 28, 2007 at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service with Rev. Tony Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in the Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Horn died Friday, December 21, at Olathe Medical Center. Delwyn Clare Horn was born March 19, 1919, at Garnett, the son of Rolland Earl Horn and Jennings Burnett Horn. He attended schools in Garnett, graduating from Garnet High School in 1938. Delwyn and Carrie Rosalie Butler were married October 19, 1939, in Oklahoma. One son, Rick Lee, was born to this union. After he finished high school, Delwyn joined his father in his trucking business, R.E. Horn Transfer, and they worked together until Rolland retired in 1961. He then worked for Star Grain and Lumber until he retired in 1984. He was a member of First Christian Church Mr. Horn was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie, on August 25, 1995; his father, Rolland Horn, on April 28, 1964; his sister, Vada Belle Horn, who died in 1921 as an infant; his father and mother-in-law, William and Lola Butler; and his step-mothers, Nellie Horn and Helen Horn. Delwyn is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Nancy Horn of Garnett; his grandsons, Bill Horn of Lyndon and Matt Horn and his fiance Chrissy Ohlmeier of Greeley; his great-grandchildren, Brilee Claire and Gunner Gauge Horn; his half-brother and his wife, Glen and Winnie Horn of Clovis, CA; and three nephews and one niece and their families. Memorials are suggested to the Delwyn Horn Memorial Fund.
