I know that the loss of your mother, Leta and the loss of your good friend, Thelma Moore in the same year has no doubt been hard on your family. I have such fond memories of Dick and Leta. My parents (Chuck & Joan) were great friends with them. I remember staying at the farm while mom and dad were at Marriage Encounter weekends. Dick taught me how to fish and Leta was by my side when I had my tonsils out. It was a wonderful surprise when Leta made it to mom's surprise 70th birthday party. It was so wonderful to see her. I know her and mom had plans to meet again but mom's health made it difficult.
Just know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

When I first came to work for the City of Garnett, one of the nicest people I came to know at the Anderson County Hospital was Leta. Anytime I had a problem with insurance coverage/payments for a city employee, she was the first one I would call. She always gave me an answer in her polite, professional voice.

So sorry to hear about your Mom. I would stop in over the past 3 0r 4 years, on my down or back from the farm - taking Dad his supply of grapefruit. Every week.
We are going through Dad and Mom's things this past week. So sad to know that has all come to a close, but know in my heart that it was time for both of them as I know you feel for your Mom - doesn't make it any easier on us but they aren't in pain anymore. -The four of them are probably playing cards somewhere.
