Dear Johns Family,
I want to thank you for sharing Ella Mae with the rest of us. She was the consumate gardener, a true neighbor, and a second mother to many children growing up in and around Lone Elm. Heaven is undoubtedly more beautiful and more friendly with her arrival.I remember so many meals, so many laughs,and so much fun at the Johns' place. Ella Mae treated me and my siblings like family. My sister Mary will never forget the trip she took with Dan, Ella Mae, Randy, and Mike to see the Iowa cousins.
For the past few years, it was my pleasure to see Ella Mae at parties for my mom at The Iola Nursing Center. She was still the great and giving woman she had been in my youth. I know she loved her family as she lived her life, with passion and grace. With deep sadness in your loss.
