Obituary of Larry W Hartman

Larry W. Hartman, age 64, of Iola, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas. He was born November 9, 1948 in Kincaid, Kansas, the son of Harold Franklin and Vera Opal (Denman) Hartman. He graduated from Blue Mound Rural High School, Blue Mound, Kansas. Larry married Virginia Brecheisen on June 9, 1984 in Garnett, Kansas. He was raised around this area making his home in Xenia, Kansas. Larry ran his parents grocery store for over 10 years and also raised cattle. They moved to Bronson where he mowed lawns, and helped Virginia in their restaurant, The Country Boy Caf. Larry loved spending time with his grandchildren; attending family dinners, dancing, and he also loved art, painting and drawing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Vera Hartman; his wife, Virginia Hartman on May 5, 2005; infant sister, Glenda Mae Hartman. Larry is survived by his daughter, Tammy Cary of Iola, Kansas; four brothers, Lavern Hartman of Iola, Kansas; Claron Hartman and wife Laura of Moran, Kansas; Marvin Hartman of Blue Mound, Kansas; Gary Hartman of Greenwood, Missouri; three sisters, Vera Louise Jeppesen and husband Stan of Butler, Missouri; Betty Rae Poff and husband Bob of Council Grove, Kansas; Linda Mae Fredrickson and husband Steven of Topeka, Kansas; two grandchildren, Tristan Cary and Faith Warden of Iola, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, in Moran, Kansas. Burial to follow in the Kincaid Cemetery, Kincaid, Kansas. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Moran on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Larry Hartman Memorial Fund.
