Helen Ann Wuckowitsch, age 95, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Garden Terrace, Overland Park, Kansas. She was born July 3, 1918 in Greeley, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Sophia (Zormeier) Wuckowitsch. Helen grew up in Greeley, attending school there. She entered the Ursuline Academy in Paola, Kansas at the age of 17. She continued her education, earning her Master's Degree in Chemistry and School Administration. Helen belonged to the Order of the Ursuline Sisters for 50 years. She was a teacher and administrator in area Catholic schools. After serving as a nun she went on to work as a home health care provider in the Kansas City area, before becoming a live in caretaker for Marie Thies for 10 years until Marie's passing. In her retirement Helen lived in Overland Park Place and then at Garden Terrace. In her free time Helen enjoyed gardening. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sophia Wuckowitsch; four sisters, Marie Katzer; Regina Huettenmueller; Anna Gengul; Veronica Miller; and three brothers, John Wuckowitsch, Frank Wuckowitsch, and Norbert Wuckowitsch. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2013, at St. John's Catholic Church with burial following at St. John's Cemetery, Greeley, Kansas.
