My heart goes out to Steve's family. My father met Steve when he was superintendent of Marmaton Valley High School and Steve was the school attorney. Dad thought highly of Steve and the work he did for USD #256. After dad retired I became a Board Member for USD #256 and got to know Steve over the 8 years I served. I and my sister both turned to Steve for legal help more than once. He was kind, helpful and to the point. I always knew if I were going to court, I would want Steve in my corner. Karen, Hank & Greg: When I walked into Orville and Steve's office to ask for a job, they hired me right then, I started in two days and I never imagined I would be there for almost 32 years. I learned so much from Steve (including how to type really good and fast!) I met and got to know so many great people and Steve was one of them. H was so intelligent, probably the most intelligent person I have ever known. He knew so much about every aspect of the law. He knew so much about a lot of things. I was always very proud to say who I worked for. He respected me and I truly respected him. He was a very devoted attorney but he was also a very devoted family man. I will miss him so much just like so many others will truly miss him. Steve was more than just a boss to me, he was a great friend! Take care of each other and if any of you ever need anything from me, I will be there.
