Charlie and his wife Georgie baby sat my first child, Robyne back in 1963. They were very kind, and Charlie spoiled Robyne rotten along with the four Hiestand kids.
Charlie was always happy to see you and was never down. That type of attitude is hard to come by and will be greatly missed.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as you morn the loss of Charlie.

My sympathy to CJ, Marvin, Patty, and Mary, having lost my parents I have some feeling what it is like.
Charley and Georgia were major part of my life and I am sad to see them gone. Georgia hauled me along with CJ and Marvin to many events at Welda grade school. I am still grateful for her assistance. She was always sweet and kind, though I assume that maybe her children might have inspired some other results a few times. I enjoyed being around Charley when I rode my bicycle to their house. He and Georgia always treated me well. They were people who enjoyed life. I don’t remember either of them without a smile. I believe Charley is the last of the “adults that I grew up around and who helped influenced who I am. I will miss them.

I will miss my weekly visit with Charlie at LTC, and checking to make sure his suspenders matched his shirt! What a remarkable, joyous man - now back home with his beloved and in the place prepared for him with God. It was an honor and pleasure knowing him! God bless all his family and friends - Fr. Jerry - Pastor of St. Boniface & St. Therese - Scipio

One of the best friends I had at LTC. Always a smile and knew all the words to the songs I played. A very special man to Theresa as well. Ask to hear the story that made Charlie and Georgie both roar with laughter.
We'll miss him so.

My sympathies go out to the Hiestand and Spencer families. Uncle Charlie is now reuniting with his love of 68 years, Aunt George. I remember running into the two of them throughout my adult years and they were always holding hands and bragging to the world about the number of years they had been together <3 Miss them both!
