Lena Headrick Masenthin, age 39, of Richmond, Kansas passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Richmond, Kansas. Lena was born July 5, 1969 at Cortez, Colorado, the daughter of Carl and Melvine (Lands) Headrick. She grew up in Westphalia, Kansas, living there until moving to Oklahoma in 1982. She moved to Garnett, Kansas in 1984. She married Norman DeVoe at Garnett, Kansas on August 3, 1985. This union was blessed with two children. They later divorced. Lena then married Travis Vermillion; this union was blessed with a son, before ending in divorce. On November 4, 2005 she married Larry Lee Masenthin, Jr. at Burlington, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2006. Lena worked at Sensor One at Princeton, Kansas. She enjoyed horse back riding, painting, going on walks and spending time with friends and family. Lena was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, Larry, and a brother, Gary Headrick. She is survived by her fianc, Jeff Stifter of Richmond, KS, her daughter, Allison Wyatt and husband, Daris, of Garnett; two sons, Keith Devoe of Garnett, and Codi Vermillion of Kincaid, KS; two brothers, Carl Headrick of Deer Island, Oregon, and Marvin Headrick and wife, Lisa, of Garnett; three sisters, Connie Layne and husband James of Garnett, Marie Headrick of Gardner, KS, and Gail McKinney and husband, Joe, of Mancos, CO; and two grandsons, Colton and Landon Wyatt of Garnett. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett. The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
