Sad to hear of Fred's passing. Fred could be a challenge to supervise, but the more I got to know him the more I understood that he always meant well in everything he did. That sometimes did not work well in a regulatory environment but on a personal level it it's an example for all of us to follow. Rest in Peace my friend......may perpetual life shine upon you.

Fred was ever a great guy both inside and out (good at heart, kind acting, honest, self-sacrificing) and I always wished him a long, happy retirement after his many years of hard work and dedication. He was a man of the sort others might aspire to be like. May he forever rest in peace... with sort excursions to bring us all a smile now and again thinking of his own. But, knowing him, he's probably stomping his boots on the cloud tops even now, quickening more rain for the farmers. Anyone would have benefitted from having him in their life and we, the lucky ones, did.

Jane and family. I am another of Fred's classmates from high school. I have fond memories of his warm smile, but mostly I recall the absolute gentleman that he was. It was easy to see that he would become a wonderful family man. His respect for his parents, family and friends were always at the highest level. It was a privilege to have Fred as my friend and I will remember him always.
Cherish all of your wonderful memories.

Jane and Family - Fred and I were classmates at Westphalia High School. As others have testified to his character, I can add that this prevailed as freshmen in high school where Stoney was always polite, patient and a gentleman. Jane, I am certain you have heard the "Stoney Stories" where that patience was tested with the Mop Fred gang in Sophomore Shop Class!! We have all laughed and laughed at our reunions with Stoney laughing the hardest. Sadly, the last Stoney Storey has been written. Bruce and I extend our sympathy to you and your family.

Fred pulled me aside during my and Seohee's wedding reception in Kansas in 2010 to tell me how lucky he thought I was to have found Seohee (I agreed!) and how excited he was to have another veterinarian in the family. It was wonderful to see him again when we were home in January, and I'm saddened that Seohee and Fred didn't have more chances to spend time together and discuss veterinary medicine. Janie, Paul and Luke—we won't be able to be there on Saturday, but please know that our thoughts will be with you from London. I will miss seeing my godfather and Seohee will miss seeing a fellow veterinarian and a kind and gentle human being.

We at Sacred Heart, Emporia were privileged to know and appreciate Fred & Jane. Jane helped a lot with our Altar Society. Purple is my favorite color so I can appreciate Fred love of it. He was a kind gentleman, always with a smile on his face. We missed him when he could no longer celebrate with us at Mass or anything else our parish celebrated. When they said they would be moving it saddened us. We understood their need to be around family with Fred's declining health. Our loss is certainly your gain. Our sincere sympathy is extended to Jane and her family. I am grateful she is around her children at this most difficult time. Warm Regards....from the Rosary Altar Society ladies and myself..

I remember when Fred and Janie started dating. Fred always made a point of talking with me and making me feel special, even though I was the obnoxious baby of the family. I also remember pestering him about marrying Janie because I didn't want him to get away! I will always have a special place in my heart for you Fred.
