Dear Aunt Doris, Susie, Patti Jo, Linda, Jody and family,
I am so sorry not to have been with you yesterday to celebrate Uncle Joe's life. I did not learn of his death until Saturday morning. I will never forget the party you had two years ago in Colony for your 65th anniversary. Your love for each other was one for the ages. You will be reminded of him constantly in the next few years. Every time you hear a coon dog, watch someone work a horse, or see "Gus" on "Lonesome Dove" you will see and hear him. I am sure that Uncle Joe, Uncle Wayne, and my dad are hunting on some creek in heaven. God help the critters!
With love and sadness,
Kenny Church

So many fun times with Joe. He took me coon hunting when I was too young to drive. A few years later we worked cattle together, long cattle drives from Lone Elm to the Dr. Level ranch at LaHarpe and then for Joe from east of Bush City to Joe's place. Art would cook some lunch over an open fire for us. Joe had so many cattle skills. Lots of good memories! Dale and Janice
