So sad to read of Joe's death. He and I had many wonderful times together while he was in the Haysville/Oatville District. He spend one year as a 6th grade teacher at Nelson Elementary when I was the principal. He< Max Kirkes and I had some great ping pong games. Joe was a fine gentleman and the best athlete I ever knew personally.
This is a GREAT picture.
Good luck to the family.

My thoughts and prayers go to all of his family. The world is a better place because of having Mr. Chalker in it. I knew him as high school principal at Crest. He was fair, kind, and a good leader. Even after graduating, he sent me the neatest letter congratulating me for something he saw in the newspaper about me. That really touched my heart.

I really enjoyed meeting Joe. He had such an amazing spirit. His enthusiasm for life was contagious and even though I only got to spend a short period of time with him, he is someone I will remember forever.

Mr. Joe Chalker was a great influence on me while taking numerous courses @ Allen County Community College. He always brought joy to the classroom and always smiled years later when we would run into each other in a store. He never forgot his students! I will miss him and my sympathy goes out to his family. So glad I had the pleasure of knowing Mr.Chalker. Rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Chalker. I was in 6th grade the opening year of Zillah School. The following two years, Mr. Chalker was my teacher for 7th and 8th grades. He was my first male teacher and I can say became my favorite teacher of all time. I attribute my English skills to Mr. Chalker. A couple of years ago while I was in Wal Mart, I saw Mr. Chalker down one isle. As I started down that isle, he looked up and said, "Why, hello Ann." He was a great teacher and I am sure was great in whatever title he held. Blessings to the family.
