Obituary of Evelyn M. Feuerborn
Evelyn Feuerborn, age 89, of Paola, Kansas, passed away on June 4, 2011 at North Point Nursing Home in Paola.
She was born on April 28, 1922 in Bush City, Kansas, the daughter of Claude and May (Camp) Robinson. She attended Garnett High School, living most of her life in the Garnett area.
She married William Francis "Bill" McMillen. This union was blessed with one son. Bill preceded her in death. She then married Leonard Feuerborn on February 14, 1952, in Miami, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with three sons. He also preceded her in death.
Evelyn managed the Hotel Caf for a few years, worked at the City Caf and at Pence's IGA for many years.
She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She loved flowers and gardening along with crocheting and knitting. She crocheted beautiful bedspreads and pillowcases over the years.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and May Robinson; one son, David Feuerborn; one brother, Melvin Robinson and one sister, Lela Morey.
She is survived by three sons, Bill McMillen and wife Annie of Rialto, California; Wayne Feuerborn and wife Vickie of Meriden, Kansas; Robert Feuerborn and wife Karen of Paola, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Stephen Cooper; Phillip McMillen; Darren McMillen; Angela Larson and husband Blake; Christopher Feuerborn and wife Amanda; Mary Feuerborn; John Feuerborn; Preston Feuerborn; Sara Feuerborn; Frankie Feuerborn; eleven great grandchildren, Christina Cooper; Ryan Cooper; Devon McMillen; Tyra McMillen; Jezreel McMillen; Tawnia McMillen; Michael McMillen; Megan McMillen; Kelly McMillen; Taren McMillen; and Audrey Larson; seven great great grandchildren, Andrea Maki; Jackson Maki; Elijah Maki; Wyatt Lutrell; Bryce Lutrell; Nicole Tapia, and Kaden McMillen; one sister, Ima Marmon and husband Roy of Garnett, Kansas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Garnett, Kansas, with burial in the Holy Angels Cemetery, Garnett. Family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Garnett. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Catholic Community Hospice.
