Ruby A. Demoret, age 64, of Garnett, KS, died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Anderson County Hospital, Garnett, KS. She was born April 9, 1944 in Garnett, Kansas, the daughter of Lester C. and Alma Fern (Hart) Demoret. She attended a country school near Lone Elm before attending the Welda Grade School. Ruby graduated from Welda High School with the Class of 1962. Following high school she attended nurses training. Ruby enjoyed reading and watching television, and attending her nieces and nephews activities. Ruby worked as a nurse's aide at McLeod's Nursing Home then at H.D. Lee and the Garnett Sewing Factory before going to work at Golden Heights Living Center where she worked in the dietary and housekeeping departments. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Alma Demoret; brother, Wayne Demoret; and brother-in-law, Fred Modlin. She is survived by two brothers, Leon Demoret and wife Connie of Kansas City, Kansas; Harold Demoret and wife Dona of Wakeeney, Kansas; and one sister, Shirley Modlin of Garnett, Kansas; nieces and nephews, Richard and Lisa Demoret and their children, Aaron and Jacob; Scott Demoret; Brian and Kori Demoret and their son Aiden; Michelle Demoret; Rebekah and Nathan Kowach and their children, Elisabeth, Joshua, and Bethany; Timothy Demoret; Fred and Kim Modlin and their children Marvin, Raiden and Jarrod; Andy and Becca Modlin and their children, Maci, Lexi, Kami, and Andrew, and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett. Interment will follow in the Garnett Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 until the time of the service Wednesday afternoon. Memorial contributions may be made to Golden Heights Living Center or to the American Cancer Society.
