I am deeply saddened to hear about Charlie's passing. Lee, as you and I know, he was almost like a second father to me for many years. One of the greatest memories I have is the day that Charlie joined us up at the house on the hill and shared stories for many hours of the history of the Harris and Emerald communities. There are very few men of Charlie's character left in this world, and getting fewer every day. I loved this man and I will miss him as you all will, every day, for the rest of my life. Raise a glass! Till we meet again!

So many years ago, I just wandered into your family on Debbie's coat tails and you just took me in and treated me like one of your own. You and Mom were the family I always needed mine to be but could never quite find. I am so proud and honored to be considered one of the children you loved so much. Charlie I love you so much and will miss you more than I could ever say. I know you will be watching me and mine like you always have.

Aunt Rita and family,
I have many fond memories of Uncle Charlie but I will never forget the way his face would light up whenever he talked to any of us. He had a unique gift of making everyone feel special! I am so happy to have my memories of him. I wish I could be there with you all but I will see you soon.
Love,
Lucinda

I was welcomed into the Wilper family many years ago by Charlie.Through the years I observed him as being a noble man of outstanding qualities. He was a mentor to me, and by this I mean that I learned by observing him and by his words that he spoke. I would say that Charlie was the hardest working man I ever met. He was a proud man as well. He was proud of all of his children, and I would see him light up anytime he was around his grandchildren and great grandchildren. As the years went on through my relationship with him, he became Dad... Later he became Daddy... There is no way that I can put into words to explain how important he was in my life. So Thank you Daddy until I see you again.

Uncle Charlie was more like my second father and Aunt Rita was my second mother...he always called me Ine... Even though my dad taught me how to dance, my fond memories of dancing with Uncle Charlie was he was so tall and he bounced up and down!! He always had a smile and a kiss for me. He was so kind and loving and patient, always gave more and never expected anything in return. Be at peace Aunt Rita and my cousins, I love you all, Ina

Am so sorry to hear of Charlies passing. He always seemed to be so layed back and have a smile on his face! A miracle for sure after raising such ornery boys! Of course the girls never made any trouble? Be assured that Charlie is looking down with satisfaction upon the work he completed during his time here. Keep the memories of the past close to your hearts and review them often in the years to come when the need to feel his presence appears.

Since I am your "oldest" I guess I get to be first on here. When I married Rex I got a bonus in the Wilper family. You took me in as the first "in-law" but always treated me as just your daughter. I knew if I needed you, you would be there in your quiet way. You knew what to say to get our attention tho! You were the dad I needed after I lost mine and I am so thankful I had you. We are grieving now but will celebrate your life and your love as we know you would want from us and know you will be watching over us young and old. I'll miss your storiesI love you Charlie, you'll be in my heart until we meet you again.
