Here is a little poem that was sent to us when my Dad passed away and it gave me so much confort. There is so little we can say.... So little we can do...When God has called a loved one home... Who means so much to you... When smiling eyes are closed in sleep... According to God's will... And that dear voice you loved to hear... Has suddenly grown still...Butthere are those who think of you ...And those who always care... And who would help your heart to lift... The burden you must bear..And so this gentle message is... Sincerely meant to be... A prayerful thought of fond regard... And heartfelt sympathy. Written By James J. Metcalfe... We were so sorry to hear of Jon's passing. He will be greatly missed. Just think of him singing in Heaven with the Angels. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you all. Bob and Mary Wright

Sometimes in life we are blessed with the opportunity to have someone exceptional come into our lives. I was so blessed the day that I met Jon. He has fought his "battle" over the last several years with a dignity and grace that I admire. Although you are now in a better place you will be sorely missed here. Thoughts and prayers go out to Pam, Julie, and Cara.

He was one of the best Nursing Home administrators. I have ever known. He loved his residents and his staff. I know he will be greatly missed. I know it is difficult for his family. However, I know he is happy playing the organ. The last time I visited with him, he told me he really missed doing that.

Lots of words come to mind when you mention Jon Covault.
He was a good man, a family man, a man of faith, and one with such a positive outlook on life which was shown in his entries he put on his care pages. When someone says they like their job, Jon loved his and the people he worked and cared for daily. Mike and I ran into he & Pam in Branson, before one of their cruises, they were all smiles and had been clothes shopping for it. They just took everyday they had with not knowing what the future held and cherished it. Perhaps that was a lesson he was trying to teach us all. We are lifting up the whole family in our prayers!

It is hard to believe that I have known Jon for 20 yrs. I started dating Pam's brother Alan when I was 19, younger than Julie & Cara now. I met Jon soon after & we've spent countless birthdays, holidays, graduations, & of course Branson vacations together since. We were fellow in-laws (or outlaws as he would say) in the Heriford family. I wasn't looking for a role-model then, anymore than Jon was looking to be one. He was a young father, several yrs younger than I am today. But as the years passed & Alan & I had our own children, suddenly we had much more in common. I was so lucky to watch those 2 cute little girls grow up to become amazing adults. It is a comfort to me as I see & feel Jon in both of them. He & Pam are awesome parents! Thank you for showing the way. I will miss Jon greatly from every family gathering, & think of him with each funny email, new technology, sci-fi movie, delicious meal & beautiful music. Though a painful loss for those here, it is a tremendous gain for heaven.
All our love to Pam, Julie & Cara.

What a special man Jon was! If you were lucky enough to make it to the list of friends that he sent jokes to - you know what a diverse group of people Jon crossed paths with on his life's journey!
I feel blest to have known him and been one of those friends! Jon personified loyalty, goodness and caring. My thoughts and prayer's are with Pam, their daughters and the rest of Jon's family and friends as we accept earth is a little less bright with Jon's passing; but Heaven is surely aglow with Jon's presence! I can just hear those angels singing to John's special music.

I only met Jon one time but he was so compassionate, loving and concerning person. I told him I would pray for his healing and I also wrote to him at his work. He told me that he knew that God was with him and that is what kept him going.
Healed he is and again I am blessed to have known such a gentle giant.

I first met Jon when my Mother in Law Oma was admitted to Golden Hts. What a caring operson. Later my mother came to stay and then it was Jerry's turn so I have been around there a lot. Jon always had time to talk to you and he could pop things off the top of his head that could make you laugh. He was a fine Christian person. I feel for Pam, Cara and Julie plus the rest of his extended family. Having gone thru this 3 years ago, I know some of what you feel. Know that my prayers are with all of you at this time. When I first met Jon, I was confused and jealous of him. After all, he stole my big sister away and took her miles away. Jon became a big brother, a role model. I am a better person and a better father because of him. I will never forget the many, many laughs we shared. Hard to imagine what life will be without one of his famous one liners to make us all laugh. Jon was one of kind. I look forward to seeing you in my dreams until we meet again.

I remember when Jon played the piano and Pam sang at our graduation for LPN and RN. They were such an idol and inspiration to me. I have had the pleasure of teaching Nursing clinicals at Golden Heights this semester, where indeed, the hearts of many will be torn with the sadness of his passing. May God give Jon's family and friends the strength to go on. May Jon rest in peace. God Bless you Pam, Julie and Cara.
