Growing up one of my favorite things to do was go see Grandpa Bill. I loved being out on the farm around the animals and the crops. Sometimes we would sit and snap green beans. I have a lot of memories of the farm and of Bill and Velva. American Legion Nights were always fun! Lots of food and card games! Sometimes I would go sneak into the poker room and sit on Bill’s lap and watch them play until someone would come to take me back out to the main room.
R.I.P. Bill
The memories you gave me will never be forgotten.
I was married to Velva's son Tracy. Bill asked me to type up a paper for him about his life. we had several laughs about my typos. Bill was a good grandpa to my kids and always said I was "the pick of the litter". I have a lot of good memories of him. rest in peace Bill.
The last time I saw him was at the class reunion in May. He was so happy and proud of being the oldest student and the oldest veteran. I applaud his niece for always taking him to bingo and to class reunions. It takes a special person to make sure he was involved with things he loved.GEHAh
