Obituary of Daniel Ramsey
Daniel J. Ramsey, age 49, of Kincaid, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at his home.
He was born on November 11, 1969, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Deane and Patty Jo (Church) Ramsey. Dan graduated from Crest High School with the Class of 1988. He attended Allen County Community College, and began working at HUMCO Steel in Garnett, then to Haven’s Steel in Ottawa, finishing up at Taylor Forge in Garnett. Dan was a member of the Boilermaker’s Union Local #83, Pipefitter Union Local #441. He currently was working at P1 Group Inc. in Lawrence.
Dan married Debbie Morey on May 25, 1991, in Garnett, Kansas, this union was blessed with two children, Zach Penland and Lexee. They later divorced. He then married Tammy Collins on October 15, 2011 at Deer Creek, Lone Elm, this union was blessed with two children, Sadie and Dawson.
His biggest love was hunting, trapping and fishing, anything that had to do with the outdoors. Dan was well known for his welding skills. He also enjoyed farming with his dad and brothers. Dan enjoyed playing softball on Sunday evenings. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by infant twins, Megan and Regan in 1995; grandparents, Joe Church, Dwight and Ardella Ramsey.
Dan is survived by his wife of the home, Tammy Ramsey; four children, Zach Penland and wife Meghan of Holiday Island, Arkansas, Lexee Guilfoyle and husband Ben of Greeley, Kansas, Sadie and Dawson, of the home; two grandchildren, Ellie and Zoey Penland, and one on the way, Lillian Guilfoyle; two brothers, Don Ramsey and Beth Davis of Colony, Kansas, Dusty Ramsey and wife Susan of Kincaid, Kansas; Dan’s parents, Deane and Patty Jo Ramsey of Kincaid, Kansas; Tammy’s parents, Gary and Patsy Collins of Garnett, Kansas; two brother-in laws, Jeff Collins and Brian Collins of Garnett, Kansas; and two sister-in-laws, Theresa Huelskamp and husband Mike of Mount Hope, Kansas, and Crystal Carey and husband Jerry of Garnett, Kansas; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in the Lone Elm Cemetery, Lone Elm, Kansas. The family will greet friends on Monday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
