I wanted to say what a loving, kind wonderful person she was. She always had the biggest smile on her face she was truly one of the nicest sweetest people I have had the pleasure of knowing. I taught with her at Holy Angels for 6 years. She and Loretta always came later, after I no longer worked there, to see me or bring me a treat. I am sad I did not get to funeral. Her infectious smile and good deeds will be missed.

I have many happy memories of Sister Mildred. Periodically I would take her to Iola for lunch to meet other cousins....Sister Mildred and the cousin we would meet was just a little younger than Sister Mildred. They would joke about which one of them would be the last surviving Katzer. We always enjoyed our lunches and I had bonus time to visit as we traveled to Iola. She was the sweetest person and always thought of everyone. She will be missed by many family members and friends..Bet you are already busy teaching crafts to all the Angels. Rest in Peace Sister

She was a wonderful 1st and 2nd grade teacher. We were blessed to have her sweetness and knowledge. I still remember her playing a trick of showing us stars, if you looked up her coat sleeve when she was putting her arm through. She never hit anyone, but she always had a precious laugh.
She definitely graced this world with her presence.

My siblings and I had the profound fortune of going to what was then called Holy Angels School where Sister Mildred presided and our mother taught. I have many memories of her sweet, quiet nature and the little house her and another nun, Sister Loretta, lived in. As my sister recalls in her memory she posted, it wasn't hard to get a candy root beer from her, something we all enjoyed. Also, picking the pecans from the tree outside her house was always a delight because they tasted so good and she was more than willing to have us take a bucketful home to make pies with. It's amazing to know she lived to become a centenarian, no doubt remaining the same little loving woman we knew growing up.

Sister Mildred was the epitome of kindness and love, especially to the students who went to Holy Angels. She always had a smile and a kind blessing to give, also a few root beer barrels if she felt you were in need of one. :) She used to call me "her Tinkerbell", which I loved. I have a very special place in my heart for her.

I remember Sr. Mildred playing with little hot wheels cars with my son, running them up and down her chair in the house in Richmond, when we visited family for the fair. She was always as sharp as a whip, and had a great laugh and smile. We will miss seeing her whenever we visited family. We loved seeing her enjoy watching the parade at the fair ,when my father would drive her up and park with her at the very beginning of the parade route in Richmond. Our prayers and thoughts are with all her family and friends.

What a precious person! Sister Mildred was a great influence on me and my children when we were at Holy Angels. Her stories during our religion class time were just as moving to me as an adult as they were to the children. My children, now parents, picked up many little saying and poems and Christian stories from her. I remember being totally amazed at her quiet gentleness in teaching the children, yet they totally respected her requests. I also remember how she seemed to just glide up those steps in the front, so quickly - faster than much younger people. :)
Sending my love and prayers for her family! Our world is a better place because of what she gave in her lifetime. <3
