Obituary of Rosalie Schafer
On Sunday, April 28, 2019, at age 80, Rosalie Lorie (Stites) Schafer, one of God’s beautiful souls, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She held a deep and abiding Christian faith.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Rosalie’s caring and gentle nature brightened the lives of those around her. Her birthday and anniversary cards were legendary. Many hearts were cheered every year when they received one of Rosalie’s hand-written cards.
Rosalie was born on March 30, 1939. She grew up on a farm in rural Linn County, Kansas. In 1957, she graduated from Parker High School. Two years later, Rosalie married Charles B. Schafer of Fort Scott, Kansas.

From 1973 to 2002, Rosalie loved caring for residents when she worked in the kitchen at the Oak Haven Nursing Home in Richmond. Charles and Rosalie remained long-time members of the Richmond United Methodist Church.
