As a child, I mainly thought of my Aunt Joan as the pretty woman who was married to my "always entertaining" Uncle Clyde. When I reached an age that allowed me to start seeing people for who they really are, I quickly realized that my Aunt Joan was much more than just a pretty face. I came to appreciate her as one of the hardest working, as well as one of the most admirable and down-to-earth people I'd ever met. Our world is definitely poorer without her. Although many miles away, I thought of her often, and will continue to do so.
