Obituary of Merle LeRoy Beeman

Merle LeRoy Beeman, age 78, Humboldt, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019, at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, Chanute, Kansas. LeRoy was born January 6, 1941, in rural Humboldt, Kansas, to Merle R. Beeman and Elsa (Coltrane) Beeman.

LeRoy graduated from Humboldt High School and attended one year at Neosho County Junior College in Chanute, Kansas.  He served his country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1965.

LeRoy and Shirley Miller were united in marriage on May 1, 1970, in Humboldt, Kansas. 

LeRoy worked at the wax plant in Chanute and later drove a truck. LeRoy and Shirley farmed in the Humboldt area for many years.

LeRoy enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his wife and grandchildren. LeRoy, in his younger years, liked working horses on the farm.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents; and one brother, Jimmy Beeman.

LeRoy is survived by two sons, Wesley R. Beeman, Humboldt, Kansas, Bengji and wife, Marsha, Savonburg, Kansas; grandchildren, Austin Beeman and wife, Haley, Erie, Kansas, Kasey Beeman, Pittsburg, Kansas, Taylor Beeman, Savonburg, Kansas; one brother, Keith Beeman and wife, Gloria, Humboldt, Kansas; one sister, Delores Mosley, Humboldt, Kansas; and numerous other relatives.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A graveside service with burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, in Maple Grove Cemetery, 439-459 – 2000th Street, Humboldt, Kansas.

Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas.
