Obituary of John E. Mead Sr.

John E. Mead Sr., age 73, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at his home.

He was born September 22, 1945, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Fred Clarence and Myrtle L. (Robe) Mead.  He graduated from Garnett High School in 1963.

John was a very dedicated Kansas City Chiefs fan.   He enjoyed spending time with his family and his church family.  He had an unwavering faith in God.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by two sons, John and Shanna Mead of Haysville, Kansas; Aaron and Lacie Mead of Clarksville, Tennessee; two daughters, Tami and Dennis Croan of Chanute, Kansas; Mindy and Jack Mayfield of Colby, Kansas; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Vicki and Bob Sugar of Arizona.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, 219 S. Oak, Garnett, Kansas, 66032.

Memorial contributions may be made to the John Mead Sr., Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the funeral home.
